Offspring for the radiated tortoises

Several new arrivals have hatched here at the Aquarium in recent months – and the latest came into the world on 28 May.

You can find the super-cute baby tortoises on the first floor, where they are currently living separately from the adults in a sort of tortoise crèche.

Radiated tortoises are threatened with extinction. This is largely due to the loss of their natural habitat in Madagascar and the illegal trade in wild animals.
