Current restrictions
Like at any modern aquarium, work at Aquarium Berlin is never really done. We are constantly trying to improve the Aquarium to make it a better place and more beautiful for animals and visitors alike. That is why you may come across construction work during your visit. Below you can find information on current construction projects and other restrictions.
Construction works in the Aquarium
In the course of a general modernization, there are construction works in the Aquarium that cause restrictions – the following areas are affected currently:
- The second floor is closed. This affects all reptile terrariums and the restaurant.
- The first floor (the underwater world), is open with the exception of a few individual tanks. For example, the jellyfish, shark, and coral reef tanks are open as usual.
- The thrid floor – the home of insects and amphibians – are open as usual.
- Due to ongoing construction works, some areas of the Aquarium may be temporarily inaccessible for people with disabilities. If accessibility is important for your visit, it is recommended to contact info@aquarium-berlin.de in advance.
- When bringing strollers and buggies, please ensure they are kept with you at all times and are not left unattended.
- Unfortunately, no guided tours or workshops can be offered at the Aquarium currently. Only the animal encounters with the sharks continue to take place. There are no restrictions on the guided tour program at Zoo and Tierpark Berlin. Please find further information here or here.
Please note that these restrictions are subject to change at short notice.
