• Overview: Barrier-free Aquarium

  • Since Aquarium Berlin does not have its own visitor parking spaces, we highly recommend using public transportation. There are a few public (paid) parking spaces in front of the Zoo´s Löwentor entrance at Hardenbergplatz and several parking garages in the vicinity.

  • Accessible restrooms are located on the ground floor of the Aquarium.

  • Manual wheelchairs are available for rent free of charge. Since we only have a certain number of wheelchairs, please make sure to send us an e-mail at info@aquarium-berlin.de to reserve one for your visit. We will need your name, mobile number, the date you would like to visit us, and the approximate time you plan to arrive. Rentals require a deposit. An identity document or an item of similar value is usually suitable. Weight restrictions apply.

The charge-free wheelchair service is kindly made possible by Dr. Recknagel Gesundheitsservice GmbH. Further information can be found here.

  • Of course, we allow conventional wheelchairs and walkers as forms of walking aids on our property.

Other means of transport are also permitted on presentation of a severely disabled person's identity card with the symbols ‘G’ and/or ‘aG’ or alternatively, an explicit medical certificate. Please contact the Servicecenter at the Zoo´s Löwentor entrance on the day of your visit. There you will receive a special permit after the documents have been checked.

Bicycles, e-scooters, road-registered vehicles, and vehicles with combustion engines are not permitted.

  • Numerous benches are scattered throughout Aquarium Berlin. Most of them are equipped with backrests.

  • Guests with severe disabilities receive a discounted entry to Aquarium Berlin with a disability degree of 50 or higher (upon presentation of a disability ID). If the ID contains a B or H remark, one assistant can enter for free.
