  • Support

  • Why have ticket prices not been lowered?

The coronavirus pandemic will continue to present us with many challenges for some time to come. Multiple closures mean important sources of income are lost, but we can’t shut down completely like some other industries; operations have to continue regardless. After all, the around 30,000 animals living in Berlin’s zoos must continue to be fed and looked after. In concrete terms, the total operating costs for Zoo, Tierpark and Aquarium Berlin amount to around €140,000 a day! As a result, we simply cannot afford to lower our ticket prices.

  • Are Zoo and Aquarium over the worst financially?

Just a few days after the first closure, we already started receiving messages from people asking how they could lend their support. We have been overwhelmed by the expressions of support over the past weeks and months. Once again, thank you very much! However, the coronavirus pandemic will continue to present us with challenges for some time to come, as the strict precautions in place mean significantly lower visitor numbers – which results in financial losses for us every day.
